Illegal Shipment Arrives at Greenore

May 2005, An illegal shipment of 2,546 tonnes of genetically modified
(GM) corn-gluten animal feed made from the unauthorised Bt10 maize (1)
arrived in Ireland aboard the ship Helena Oldendorff on Wednesday 25
May and was unloaded at Greenore Port in Co. Louth, on Thursday. Read

One51 acquires O'Brien's waste firm

One51 has acquired Denis O'Brien's Rilta, trading as SITA Environmental, a Dublin-based hazardous waste disposal firm.
SITA Environmental has a hazardous waste facility in Rathcoole, County Dublin. . "The
acquisition of Rilta is another important step in the development of
One51's growth strategy in the waste sector,' said Philip Lynch, chief

One51 has 23% of UK waste firm

One51, the former IAWS Co-op, has bought a 20.6% stake in British waste management company Augean.
This
brings its total holding to 23.3%. One51 bought 13.5 million shares
today, according to a stock exchange announcement. Augean shares closed
at 125p in London yesterday, though they were up more than 20% late on
Friday evening. This suggests One51 paid almost £17m (€25m) for
the shares.Augean is listed on London's AIM market and operates six
waste facilities. It is based in Wetherby in Yorkshire and employs 120
people.
